Using Little Home Details means agreeing to what follows. It is written to be read rather than to be impressive.
Reading and sharing
Read it, print it, send it to somebody, quote a paragraph with a link back. Do not republish whole articles elsewhere, pass them off as your own, or feed the archive into a product as though you had written it.
Ownership
The writing belongs to Noelle Kirkbride and to Little Home Details. Photographs are licensed from stock libraries. Brand, maker and product names appear only to describe things and belong to their owners.
No warranty
This is one person’s experience in one old house, not professional advice. Materials differ, finishes differ, and what came up beautifully on my hardware may strip yours. Test any cleaner, solvent or polish on a hidden part first, read what is on the label, never mix cleaning products, work with the windows open, and stop when it is going badly.
Old objects in particular
Paint on anything from before 1978 may contain lead, and old wiring inside a salvaged lamp is not safe until somebody qualified has said it is. If a piece is rare or valuable, take it to a conservator rather than following a method described here. Nothing on this site is a valuation or an authentication.
Limits
So far as the law allows, Little Home Details is not liable for loss, damage or injury arising from acting on something read here. Work involving gas, electrical panels or structure belongs to a licensed professional.
Links out
Links to other sites, affiliate links included and described in the affiliate disclosure, are not an endorsement of everything on those sites. I do not control what they publish or how they handle your data.
